2026Volunteer technical lead

PostSecret

Frank Warren owns PostSecret, which spans twenty years and about 14,000 secrets, but lacked technical expertise to make the archive explorable beyond a simple list. With Automattic's Special Projects team, I designed and built search by text, feeling or meaning, merged into one ranking, inside the WordPress tools his team uses. Each new secret stays private until reviewed, so sensitive submissions are not public by default.

2019 to 2025Sole early developer, then EVP of Product

Melee.gg

Melee.gg started with no platform and a single developer: me. I built a multi-tenant platform for stores, organizers and publishers, with pairings, standings and payments in one place and real-time updates where events needed them. It grew to hundreds of thousands of players and was adopted by teams at Wizards of the Coast, Ravensburger and Star City Games, and I led it for six years as EVP of Product.

NILmetrics

After the NCAA's 2021 policy change, collectives, brands and agents could price athlete deals but had no benchmark. I built the scoring engine and its dollar projections, the ESPN pipeline that keeps roughly ten thousand Division I basketball players across 32 conferences in sync, and the dashboards for four kinds of buyer. It is my own company, in closed beta.

2026-10Contract developer and technical lead

Christmas Cheer

Onslow Community Outreach, a North Carolina nonprofit, runs the Christmas Cheer program. I am building its platform for the 2026 season on a fixed-price contract through Mythic Works LLC, from an empty codebase, with the code in a GitHub organization in the nonprofit's own name.

Concierge

The system staff ran large Magic: The Gathering events on: registration, seating, staffing, badges and cash reconciliation. At its first event a line of about 100 people cleared in about ten minutes, and it went on to serve about 100,000 attendees.

Domain Triage

A batch domain checker that only reports a domain as available with definitive proof, and says Unknown otherwise. It checks 20 domains a batch for about 50 cents a month.

Duly

A civic platform to tell genuine constituent messages from automated ones. It soft-launched in July 2025 and was demonstrated to elected officials, but no pilot was signed and the project is no longer active.
